Courage and Bystanders

Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear – not absence of fear.”
~ Mark Twain (1835 – 1910)

Mark TwainAs we have recently seen more discussions about bystander intervention, may we all remember Mark Twain’s words.  When someone tells you, “I was too afraid to say anything,” remind him/her,

Everyone is afraid.  FEAR is your brain TELLING you something is WRONG and you must take ACTION. A time of fear is your greatest opportunity to show courage.  Be Courageous and do the RIGHT thing!”
