VOTE for FINAL “Want Some Action?” Shirt

Below are the T-shirt designs selected by our website visitors to be the TOP 5 FINALISTS for becoming the new “Want Some Action?” T-shirt.  You get to choose and help pick the new shirt for the upcoming 2010-2011 School Year!  Plus, you get the chances to win the #1 shirt.

LOTS of input is what we are looking for – from both MALES and FEMALES, especially between the ages of 17 years old and 23  years old.  Invite family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors to VOTE and get their chance to WIN!!  Use FaceBook, email, and Twitter to invite people. For the “Can I Kiss You?” shirt, we needed more votes from males and so please encourage males to participate.  As a reward for helping, we are going to give out a bunch of free shirts by drawing the names of participants!

The key wording is you have to like the shirt sooo much you want to buy it for yourself and wear it!   Remember you are not buying anything. You are simply sharing your opinion. The key feedback is what shirt do you like soo much that you would pay to get it more than the other shirts.

Below are statements provided to us by students for an upcoming addition to our current “Do You Ask?” educational poster series. This new addition of posters will be addressing texting, safer dating, and healthier relationships with a PROACTIVE APPROACH (as the “Do You Ask?” posters currently do with consent and sexual decision-making).  You are voting on the FINAL 11 Choices.

In the VOTING section below, share your favorite statements (list the # of the statement – such as #21, #99, etc…) and include WHY!   You are highly encouraged to ADD additional statements you would like to see  on posters. INTERNS and Volunteers Wanted!

Are you creative and/or talented? Are you a problem-solver? We are currently looking for caring and talented individuals who want to volunteer their time to help spread the mission of The Date Safe Project Inc.  If you are a student, we would be happy to create a volunteer internship to help you gain credit at school and/or build your resume.

Upcoming projects include:

1. Online Student Membership Section Development (ideas for articles, help setup interviews with experts & renown personalities; tele-seminars, etc…)
2. Reviews of movies, TV shows, music – must relate reviews to how the “art” related to the issues we discuss (such as our current discussion on the blog about the “True Blood” HBO series showing a violent sexual scene).
3. Creation of more educational products helping promote important messages (T-shirts, clothing line, usable products for students, etc…)
4. Work with corporations to team up with The Date Safe Project Inc.
5. Building curriculum for K12 schools and potentially universities.

Parenting Unplugged – Listen In

Parenting Unplugged just had Mike Domitrz, the Executive Director of The Date Safe Project Inc, to reveal unique and helpful strategies for parents of tweens and teens.  Listen to the thought-provoking interview below. You will get lots of great ideas you will want to implement immediately with your family.  If you are a teacher, you will find the tips helpful for when school starts back up in the Fall.

THE PROGRAM for Parents in the Military & Their Teens!

Family life has one of the biggest influences on the men and women in our military.  Providing useful and insightful resources which can give our military members with teenagers real solutions to challenges in their home leads to more focused & well-rounded military members.

More and more military installations are having The Date Safe Project, Inc and Mike Domitrz to provide an educational package which is truly all inclusive.  The military gets fantastic training, teens of our military members get a whole new approach to decision-making, and their parents gain simple skills to reinforcing positive choices back in the home.  For installations who want to provide their men and women the ultimate experience and growth opportunity, they will often do at least the following:

11:30am: “Can I Kiss You?” Briefing for Men and Women Serving in Military

1:00pm:  “Can I Kiss You?” Educational Show at Local High School (and/or installation schools)

6:30pm: “HELP! My Teen Is Dating” Workshop for parents.

The HELP! My Teen Is Dating.  Real Solutions to Tough Conversations seminar is changing the way parents and their teenagers are approaching, discussing, and handling decision-making regarding dating, intimacy, and parties.  In one hour, parents will discover several simple steps to effectively engaging their teenagers.  Best of all, the lessons are designed to be flexible to the personality of YOUR TEENAGER.  As you  are aware, no one solution exists for every teenager or for every parent.  Each child, parent, and family is different.  In this interactive program, you will laugh, learn, and be inspired to take immediate action upon getting home.  Mike Domitrz will even give you a few tips to help get the conversation rolling – without your son’s or daughter’s eyes rolling at you.

Of course, you don’t have to squeeze everything into one day.  Installations will frequently schedule Mike to speak on multiple days to insure enough briefings are available for all men and women to experience the training – while also providing time for the school programs and the evening workshops for parents. Help create lifelong change for your military community by bringing all 3 presentations to your installation!
