I am a survivor of childhood abuse which spiraled into a long term relationship with a man who introduced me to a life filled with domestic violence, and unfortunately I also became a non-offending mother of a sexually abused child. I am developing two books. “Shadows of Silence: Book 1” gives readers a front row seat to what transpired in my own and my daughter’s life. “Shadows of Silence: Book 2”is an anthology e-book, with entries from professionals as well as both male and female survivors from most age brackets, from many walks of life and from many parts of the world.

When my daughter disclosed her abuse we lived in a small town that offered next to no resources catering to my needs. Hunting for the help I needed overwhelmed me, and multiplied to the frustration and the existing pain. Those times inspired me to create my books. I don't know about you but, one of the things that help me to survive the rough periods is to read what others have endured and how they conquered their experience.

My quest is three-fold to:

1) Offer support to fellow abuse survivors

2) Educate those who have not been subjected to these appalling issues

3) Generate awareness about who is offering prevention, education, and support

This brings me to the reason for this email. I am inviting you to read about my mission and to take part in my upcoming book to help spread awareness.  I am advocating for survivors of all types of abuse to add their testimony which can be done anonymously or by using a first name.
